Youth Conference

My husband and I have had the honor of working with the youth in our church congregation for the past several years. This past weekend we were invited to tag along with them for a few days of spiritual rejuvenation, friendship and fun in the woods. Our main task was to help prepare meals for them during the duration of their stay. However, as always we walked away with more gratitude, love and appreciation for these kids then we could ever impart to them. Most notably we loved our time spent canoeing around the lake, participating in our first family camping trip, being in the presence of those much younger, cooler and smarter than us. We also made hundreds of s'mores, hamburgers and sandwiches and were thoroughly impressed with how kind, generous and loving these kids are in a world which generally teaches them to be otherwise.
