It might seem obvious to most of you not to select a tomato which takes 90 days to reach maturity when you live in Seattle. Unfortunately, the draw of the purply red flesh of the Cherokee tomato was just more than I could bare, so I went with it. As a result, while all my friends are popping cherry tomatoes right and left into their mouths I am praying my green tomatoes will turn their proper color. Finally, the other day I saw one tomato was ripe; my heart skipped a beat. Success, albeit it small was well worth the wait.
