A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

New York City is infamous for being expensive, but with a little time and effort you can have your fair share of cheap thrills.

1. Walking along the High Line, it is free and provides views not only of the Hudson River, but public artwork, scenery, and is a great place to stroll for an hour or two or enjoy a picnic lunch.

Great architecture along the High Line.

Loved this ad along the High Line.

2. Walking around Central Park is another great free activity. There is plenty of territory to cover with ponds, bridges and play grounds. The Plaza Hotel is adjacent to Central Park and was the home to Eloise.

3. While taking a carriage ride through Central Park is anything but free, picking up a bag of hot nuts from a street vendor in the park will set you back only a few dollars.

3. Possibly the best burger in town can be found at Shake Shack for just a few dollars. Don't be fooled by the name, their shakes are horrendous, but their burgers are delicious.

4. Take a ride on the ferris wheel at the Toys R Us in Times Square. Sure it is geared towards children, but how many toy stores have an actual ferris wheel inside?

5. Visit the 9/11 memorial. Tickets are free, but you need to make your reservation in advance.

6. Lace up your walking shoes and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Treat yourself to a margherita pizza at Grimaldi's

7. While over in Brooklyn enjoy a ride on Jane's carousel.

8. Take a free ride on the Staten Island Ferry for views of Lady Liberty and the city.

9. Start your day with a sugar rush. Enjoy a crystallized ginger donut or better yet a Black Out Cake donut from Doughnut Plant.

10. Take an audio tour of Grand Central.
