The art of the date
Once you are married, it is easy to fall into the habit of either calling everything you ever do a date or never going on dates. Although we are not perfect at making this a constant priority, I like to think we make it a concerted effort to go on a frequent amount of dates.
What do I classify as a date?
- When you set out with a plan and are headed to do a mutually interesting/enjoyable task. Mutually is key here because a trip to the fabric store or the Apple store would not be classified as a date.
- When you have made a reservation or arrangements prior. This could be reservations for a restaurant, tickets to a movie, a play etc.
- When you do something out of the ordinary in sheer celebration of being together. I realize this is pretty broad, but this could be something like stopping for ice cream after completing an errand or going on a long walk to watch the sunset.
With Valentine's Day around the corner, dates are the perfect thing to squeeze in between lunch breaks, soccer games or household chores.
