Deception Pass
Deception Pass is the straight which separates Fidalgo Island from Whidbey Island. It connects Skagit Bay, part of the Puget Sound with the Strait of Juan de Fuca. There are beaches, trails and plenty of space to explore for an afternoon. Sometimes it can get really windy, but in the Spring and Summer it can be a lovely place for a picnic or a short hike.
Oftentimes, we will stop and park our car for a quick walk across the bridge. Walking across the bridge is a great way to enjoy the views and stretch our legs as we drive back from LaConner or Coupeville.
It was freezing cold that day, so I was bundled up with layers galore. My down jacket is warm, but it always packs on a least ten pounds. My monster gloves are from a local store NuBe Green.
