A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Seattle Bloggers Unite Spring Social

Seattle Bloggers Unite Spring Social

Last week I had the wonderful opportunity to cohost the Seattle Bloggers Unite Spring Social. It was such a wonderful evening and I always find the process of creating a vision and then executing it, so exhilarating. We hosted the event in Aran Goyoaga's studio since it was the first day of Spring we could not have had asked for a lighter, brighter or more versatile space to work with.

I was so pleased with how every little detail turned out; from the flower filled bike crate on the vintage french bike, to the beautiful floral cupcakes and delicious food. We could not have pulled off such a fantastic event with our event sponsor BING, our inspiring panel, all our talented gift bag sponsors and our wonderful attendees.

We decided to keep the food at the party pretty simple. Trophy Cupcakes provided the beautiful floral cupcakes as our main show piece. I believe they typically do these floral cupcakes for weddings, but they just screamed first day of Spring to me. Lyndsey and I made the flourless Peanut Butter cookies, and I made the caprese and fruit skewers and Blueberry Lavender Lemonade. We were also privileged to have delicious carrot crostinis made by the lovely and talented Taylor of Ginger and Salt

We were fortunate enough to work with not one, but two wonderful vendors, Marigold and Mint and Valley and Co. Marigold and Mint provided the "Hello Spring" sign and the flowers seen below. Valley and Co. provided the flowers seen at the food table and the in the bicycle crate.

One of the elements I was most excited about for our guests was how I had the founder of Kinfolk, Nathan Williams, individually autograph each copy of the Kinfolk cookbook we provided in the gift bags. Kinfolk is such a beautiful lifestyle brand and I believe it shares a similar vision to Seattle bloggers. If you have not had a chance to look through this beautiful book, I suggest you run out and purchase one today.

Stephanie Brubaker of Stephmodo was gracious enough to lend us her vintage french bike for the evening which was the perfect accompaniment to my Coil and Drift reclaimed Porter bike crate which held the gorgeous flowers from Valley and Co. I think it is safe to say the world would be a brighter, happier place if we all rode around with flowers. I had fun testing my tissue paper prowess by creating the wall flowers.

For our distinguished panel we were privileged to hear from Alice Currah, Aran Goyoaga and Brandi Henderson. They tackled hard questions like where they find their daily inspiration and how best to go about creating an audience/sense of community.

These beautiful tassels were provided by a new company in Seattle called Tassel Love. They offer affordable, customizable and beautifully made tassels which would be the perfect addition to any event you are hosting. I think it is safe to say we could all use a little more fringe in our lives.

It was exciting to see all our months of hard work come together in one evening. Lyndsey and I complimented each other nicely because our individual skill sets are very different.

I was pretty busy during the actual event playing hostess, so the bulk of my photos were taken before the party started. Here are just a few of the night unfolding and the many beautiful and talented guests.

Later this week, I will be sharing the amazing gift bags we handed out which includes items from Studio Manufact, San Juan Sea Salt, Pelindaba, Dahila Press, Wren Bird Arts, Kinfolk, Hot Cakes Cakery, Wallingford Co., Rachel Austin, Sparrow and Wolf and Shannon Eileen. We were also fortunate to be able to giveaway two beautiful pieces from Betsy and Iya. Their jewelry is simplistic and yet stunningly versatile and beautiful.
