Munchery
When Cameron went back to work after his paternity leave I was left with all the my normal responsibilities and commitments in addition to caring for a newborn. Needless to say, a majority of the time I felt exhausted and a tad overwhelmed as I adjusted to my new normal. Whenever I had a free minute I was either cleaning up the house, doing laundry or trying to find a quiet moment to myself. The time and preparation it took to plan a meal, go grocery shopping and make dinner felt like an impossible task. This is where Munchery saved me. Munchery is a unique service which delivers healthy, locally made, ready to eat food at the click of a button right to your front door. You can browse their ever changing menu each day and select entrees such as Miso Black Cod, Eggplant Parmesan or Grilled Steak Cobb Salad.
Within ten minutes I was able to order a variety of soups, salads, desserts and entrees to compromise a week's worth of dinners. Upon check out I was given an opportunity to choose my delivery time and even saw a photo of who my delivery guy would be. Munchery is perfect for those who want to eat healthy, but who for whatever reason don't have the time, energy or creativity required to make delicious meals on a daily basis. Overall my experience was great. The food was delivered on time by the friendliest guy (one time he even apologized for being five minutes early), the instructions were simple to follow and the food was easy to reheat (even though we don't have a microwave). Munchery gave us a weeks worth of ease and allowed me to focus on other things all the while knowing dinner would be delicious and I didn't even have to leave the house.
In one week we were able to try the following:
Beef Fajitas & Tri-Color Peppers, Cajun Blackened Salmon Caesar,
Tandoori Chicken and Biriyani, White Bean & Escarole Soup, Salted Peanut-Chocolate Brownie
Butternut Squash Stuffed Shells, Shaved Brussels Sprouts & Almonds
Wild Mushroom Pot Pie, Kale & Smoked Almonds Salad
English Pub Pie, Beef and Black Lentil Soup, Boston Wedge Salad,
Sicilian Braised Chicken, Tomato Soup with Squash & Beans
Our favorites were the fajitas, salmon caesar, shaved brussel sprouts, English Pot Pie and the soups.
My favorite things about Munchery are:
- Easy to use. I appreciated being able browse appealing photos of my food before I ordered it.
- On time and consistent. Unlike a repairman, the delivery guy was at my house at my predetermined time.
- Economical. Each entree was roughly $8.95-$9.95 and was an appropriate serving for one person.
- Local, fresh and eco friendly. Food is made by local chefs, all ingredients are fresh and their adorable packaging is compostable and biodegradable.
