A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Earthbox Inn

Earthbox Inn

Over Memorial Day weekend, we stayed at the Earthbox Inn on Friday Harbor. Earthbox Inn is centrally located in town and only four blocks from the ferry terminal. It is close enough you could walk onto the ferry and enjoy a car free vacation as you walk or cruise around town on one of their free bikes. Earthbox Inn is an old motel which has been refurbished into a modern, chic, laid back place to rest your head. Even though we stayed over a holiday weekend, we found our room to be quiet and our bed to be among some of the comfiest we have ever slept in.

We stayed in the Sky Place Cabana which is adjacent to this lovely outdoor space. It is the perfect place to have a simple meal, play a game or just chat and enjoy the fresh air in the evening. Spring is such a beautiful time to visit the San Juan Islands, but with Summer just around the corner the weather is going to make it an even better time to visit. The San Juan Islands get less rainfall than Seattle, due to their location in the rain shadow of Olympic Mountains to the southwest. Summertime high temperatures are around 70 °F, making it the perfect weather to be outside and yet still be comfortable.

Earthbox Inn's proximity to downtown allows for easy access to shopping, enjoying the local cuisine and making an ice cream run or two. Beautiful floral hanging baskets dot the downtown core and provide a welcome ambience while strolling along the streets.

The ferry ride from Anacortes to Friday Harbor is truly breathtaking. On your ride you will see a variety of wildlife, countless other boats and an assortment of beautiful islands. By staying a night or two in Friday Harbor; you allow yourself the opportunity to explore beyond downtown and see more of the island. Some of the many places worth visiting on San Juan Island are Cattle Point, Lime Kiln Lighthouse, Roche Harbor and Pelindaba Lavender Farm.
