Hiking to Snow Lake

For you long time readers, you know we like to hike...A LOT! So when Jasper came along, it was pretty much a given we would invest in a hiking pack once he was big enough. We were ecstatic when upon placing him in the carrier for the first time he literally laughed and squealed with delight. Hiking must be in his blood! Riding in the carrier allows him to be up high and see everything from a different vantage point than his everyday life. I can tell Jasper feels like a big deal in his carrier and he really seems to enjoy the view.

Once we were at Snow Lake it felt like one of the best days of my life. Being able to share one of our favorite places with our son was a profound moment and one I will treasure all my days. Even though it was constant struggle between keeping his sun hat or sunglasses on we were both delighted with the success of our inaugural hike with our carrier. On the way down Jasper fell asleep intermittently in the carrier. Regardless of whether he was awake or not, he kept his hand firmly placed on Cameron's shoulder. It was almost like he was saying, "Dad, you can do this!" The constant love and trust Jasper demonstrates towards us on a daily basis is something I will always admire and hope to never take for granted.
