A late Summer hike to Blue Lake
One of our favorite parts of the North Cascades are the endless trails to explore. Two of our favorite hikes are Blue Lake and Cutthroat Lake. Not only are these trails beautiful and kid friendly, but short enough hikes we are able to do other activities during the day after our hikes.
The color of this lake is unreal. It is so clear and beautiful it just begs for its photo to be taken.
Fall is just starting to make its appearance along the trail to Blue Lake. The larch are starting to turn golden and pops of red and orange were seen as we made our way up. There are so many miles of trails in the North Cascades we are typically able to have a trail to ourselves. We might see a handful of people on our way up or down, but usually we have had the lake to ourselves. Such a difference from the over populated trails near Seattle!
And how all good hikes should end- with a nice long nap!
