A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Glacier National Park in the Winter

Glacier National Park in the Winter

I have always wanted to visit Glacier National Park in the Winter and a couple weeks ago we finally made it happen. One of my favorite things to do is hike the same trails over and over again, but during different seasons. I had heard the Going to the Sun road was closed during the Winter, but being able to walk along it instead of drive was a thrill. In general, the park was quiet, and beautiful, but it was also a good reminder how traveling during the off season will always have its benefits.

Montana has been experiencing a warmer than usual Winter, so even though it wasn't the Winter wonderland I had hoped for, it was still very beautiful.

Throughout the day we only came across a handful of other hikers and a few cross country skiers. The older I get the more I realize how much I love the solitude of a quiet forest. I could really see us living in Montana for at least part of the year when we get older.

A quiet and peaceful Lake MacDonald in the Winter.

Jasper walking in his snow boots for the first time. I was not certain how he would do because they are pretty stiff boots, but he was eager to run off on his own like usual.

I love seeing the intense bond that exists between these two. They are always smiling and laughing when they are together and they constantly remind me to not be so serious. I always assumed I would have a girl, but I am happy we have been blessed with two boys instead.

No matter where we are I always need to shower this little guy with kisses. I hope his little cheeks stay chubby for a long time to come.

Exploration is one of the greatest teachers. I loved watching Jasper play with snow and examine his cold, wet hands afterward.

Although Glacier National Park is a fun place to visit during the Winter, Summertime will always be when my love for this park first grew. The time I have spent hiking these trails and camping under these wide open skies stars has changed my life for the better and for that I will always been eternally grateful for the national parks.

Here are a few of our past visits to Glacier National Park.
