Frankie and Jo's
A few weeks ago we finally paid a visit to the much talked about Frankie and Jo's. Frankie and Jo's is an exciting new venture between Autumn Martin of Hot Cakes and Kari Brunson of Juicebox Seattle. The shop was sweetly named after Martin’s grandmothers, Frances and Joanne. Frankie and Jo's is a plant based ice cream shop serving up deliciously unique and intriguing flavors like Salty Caramel Ash, Chocolate Date, Gingered Golden Milk and California Cabin to name just a few.
Once you step inside the shop you are transported to a tropical hideaway in the city. The Seattle Times recently wrote an article about Frankie and Jo's where they encouraged people to put aside their prejudices and come try the dairy free and vegan ice cream hot spot. You certainly do not have to have food allergies to enjoy Frankie and Jo's, but if you do it will make the trip all the sweeter!
Since having children I have become increasingly conscientious about what I put into their bodies and mine. It is nice to have a place like Frankie and Jo's where we can enjoy a sweet treat without feeling sick or guilty afterward. Initially, we thought Jasper would be able to better manage a cup of ice cream rather than a cone, but he was no fool. After a few moments he realized what he was missing out on and demanded he get a waffle cone like everyone else. At Frankie and Jo's the waffle cones are as much a necessity as ordering the Salty Caramel Ash.
