A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Cabin on Silver Lake

Cabin on Silver Lake

When I think of a dreamy weekend getaway I think of seclusion, a beautiful home in the woods, sweeping views, a roaring fireplace and plenty of time spent outdoors. A few weeks ago we spent such a weekend at this cabin on Silver Lake. Unfortunately, it coincided with both my boys being sick, so we played it low key baking cookies, playing trucks, reading books and spending time at the lake. I am grateful the two most important men in my life are so easy to please and are just happy when we spend time together. If you are in search of the perfect mountain getaway might I suggest you check out Mount Baker Lodging they have an assortment of cabins large and small to fit all needs and interests.

This cabin is located on Silver Lake and has a large deck with a fire pit perfect for evenings under the stars and is just steps away from lake access.

Every time we have visited Silver Lake it has been calm and peaceful with the occasional fishing boat trolling by.

The deck is the perfect place to cozy up with a book or enjoy a meal. There is even a hot tub for your enjoyment once the little ones go to bed.

Nearby is Silver Lake State Park with mossy branches everywhere and plenty of room to explore.

In my dreams, I hope to one day own a cabin like this. A little slice of heaven away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The pathway down to the water.

Now here is a tub with a view!

Lake access from the house

We try to keep our menu planning simple when we are out of town. Grilled cheese, soup and fruits and veggies makes for the perfect rainy day lunch.

I never grow tired watching how Jasper interacts with his surroundings. Here he is building a "road" with his alphabet cards.

Books, always "one more book" with our little guy. I am incessantly pleased with the information he has learned from books from the name of the planets, the alphabet, to the names of construction equipment and his colors. Books are really a window into a wealth of knowledge.

A simple breakfast.

Half the fun of wearing boots is getting your feet wet!

I am grateful for all the gracious hosts who share their homes with others when they are not there to enjoy them. And for all the property rental companies out their like Mount Baker Lodging who strive so hard to give you a relaxing and enjoyable weekend away. If you are in search of the perfect mountain getaway might I suggest you check out Mount Baker Lodging they have an assortment of cabins large and small to fit all needs and interests.
