University District Farmer's Market
It has been several years since I last checked out the University District's Farmer's Market, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how much it had grown and how the selection was varied and eclectic. Walking just one street of vendors provided the ingredients and inspiration for not only one but several week night meals. Some farmer's markets I have visited lately are heavy on crafts as opposed to food or you often see the same vendors everywhere you go. I am grateful to live in a place where our residents support local farmers and where I have such easy access to fresh goods of all kinds.
The best of the best! When berry and cherry tomato season collide.
Growing up I never appreciated tomatoes, but as an adult I cannot get enough. I grow them, I photograph them and whenever I see a new variety I want to try it.
Jasper was on a mission to find a scone.
Homemade bar soap. Especially since having children I have rediscovered the importance of staying away from chemicals.
One of the happiest flowers around!
The variety of dahlias is always mind blowing.
We walked away with two fresh made pastas, one loaf of our favorite Seawolf bread, one bag of mushrooms, a basket of blackberries, some corn and two bottles of shrub. We are excited to finally incorporate this non alcoholic vinegar based drink into our repertoire.
