Timpanogos Cave National Monument

While we were in Utah a few weeks ago we spent a gorgeous Fall afternoon hiking up and exploring the Timpanogos Caves. It had been almost fifteen years since our first visit together; shortly after we had just started dating. The hike is a short and paved, but steep. It is the kind of hike which makes you grateful for being shape. Although it was a warm day the cave hovers around forty five degrees year round. Although the tours were sold out for the day, we lucked out by taking our chances and hiking to the top. Upon reaching the entrance to the cave, we were able to join a group whose members did not all make it to the top. Even though our son is small and enjoyed a nap on the way down I am grateful for the opportunities we have as a family to make memories and be together.

A Summer wedding

Cameron's cousin was married this past weekend in Salt Lake City. Aside from the bride being a timeless beauty, her dress was a stunning little number from BHLDN. Over the past ten years it has certainly become easier to curate and execute great ideas for your wedding with Pinterest and blogs.

Celebrating love

Time has flown by, we have not been home very many weekends these past few months. We just returned from a whirlwind trip to Utah this past weekend. At the last minute, we decided to drive there for Cameron's cousin's wedding.  Despite our lack of planning or time we decided we would just make it work. The weather was gorgeous, the wedding was flawless and it left me wanting to get married all over again.

A day in Park City, Utah

One sunny day while we were in Utah, we set out to go snowshoeing at Canyons. Once we rode the gondola up we realized the only way to go snowshoeing was to take a tour. Say what? With a $60-$70 price tag per person we decided we would find somewhere else to go because snowshoeing should be free. (i'm just saying…..)

After we enjoyed our free snowshoeing we headed to downtown Park City to refuel and do a little window shopping. We ate lunch at Bandits Grill and Bar and had the yummiest pulled pork. We also did some window shopping and two stores in particular stood out to us: Prospect, a men's and women's clothing store and Root'd, a home decor and interior design boutique. It was a lovely day and I reminded how much sunshine, good company and fresh air make for the perfect day.

Snowshoeing to Dog Lake

Christmas Day was blue skies and sunshine.  Since we had already celebrated Christmas a few days prior we spent Christmas morning snowshoeing up to Dog Lake. In Washington, our mountain passes have received virtually no snow this season, so we were delighted to find snow, Icicles, and snowshoeing trails galore. As we started out on the trail Cameron was asked to be interviewed by a local news station. Not one to be camera shy, he eagerly talked about our preparations and plans for avoiding the dangers of avalanches. Later that evening, much to his delight he had made it on the local news.
