A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

We have visited a myriad of pumpkin patches over the years and have seen as time has gone on each one becoming increasingly touristy, pricey and overrated. When I saw a break in the weather on Saturday I knew I wanted to go somewhere without ridiculous lines, unnecessary attractions or most importantly without hoards of people. That is when I remembered Oxbow Farm. Many years ago my husband and I attended a farm to table dinner at Oxbow Farm, but I had not thought much about it since. Oxbow Farm is what every good pumpkin patch used to be; there is fresh air, plenty of wide open spaces, an inexpensive hay ride and pumpkin sling shot, beautiful pumpkins in all shapes. sizes and colors. The most exciting part of all of this is Oxbow Farm is an actual farm which means your children are able to see and experience actual edibles like kale and tomatoes and quince growing. It is quite shocking to stop and think about how many children aren’t exposed to or aware of where their food actually comes from.

Instead of having you traipse through a field to find a pumpkin they have created a river complete with a beautiful little boat setting sail through it.

There are a few things I am passionate about as a mother and one of them is gardening. From an early age I have included Jasper in the planning, preparing and tending to our garden. I am convinced it has helped curtail him from being a picky eater, but rather a curious one.

If you are in the market for gorgeous pumpkins in an array of colors or would love to go on a hay ride that won’t set you back an exorbant amount money look no further than Oxbow Farm. As a bonus there is farm fresh food available for purchase (soups. salads and sandwiches), a farm stand full of fresh produce from the farm and even some native plants for sale.
