A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Portland on a whim

Portland on a whim

One Saturday in March, we saw the weather was warmer in Portland was possibly going hit seventy degrees. Since we had the day free, we jumped in the car and spent the day eating, walking, shopping and basking in the glorious sunshine. As much as I am a planner, I appreciate the impulsiveness of my husband. When he is not working, he does not like to spend his time creating plans. This used to drive me a bit crazy, but I have decided in regards to his schedule he likes to be as free as the wind.

I like to think of Portland as the younger, cooler sibling to the older, more serious and established Seattle. We like to spend the majority of our time either along Mississippi Avenue or the Pearl District. We have so many favorite places to eat, there are never enough meals in the day nor room in our bellies.

While in Portland we came across Moberi. Moberi has a brilliant concept, they are a bike powered smoothie truck. Once you order your smoothie with fun names like Delorean, Affordable Healthcare or One Night in Bangkok you are given the choice to hope on a bike and mix your own smoothie or not. Every person we watched who ordered decided to pedal. I love how this concept is part spectacle (draws a crowd out of sheer intrigue), part entertainment and a great way to encourage health and activity.

Before we saw the Moberi truck we made a post lunch stop at Ruby Jewels, my all time favorite ice cream on the planet. Their Honey Lavender has been at the top of my list, but I opted for something a little more decadent this time.

Warm, sunny days are rare treats in early Spring, so if it takes a two an a half hour drive to find the sunshine we have our bags packed and are ready to go!

We have gone to Portland numerous times, but here are a few of our adventures there: Our tax free baby shopping weekend, a day trip just for the heck of it, love for our sister city, adventures in Portland, and enjoying the quirk and style of Portland.
