Vayable Tour with Anne Ditmeyer in Paris
Upon recommendation from a friend we booked a tour through Vayable with Anne Ditmeyer for our first full day in Paris. I liked the idea of a tour because it had been long time since I had been to Paris and this was going to be Cameron's first visit. Upon meeting Anne at our hotel I instantly knew we were going to have a good day. She was easy to talk to, full of energy and a wealth of information. She easily customized our tour to include the areas and sights which would be of most interest to us. One of my favorite take aways from our tour was the handful of photographs she snapped of us during our time together.
Taking a tour with Anne was like hanging out with a friend. Conversation flowed freely and you could easily sense her love for the city. Before our tour Anne sent us a questionnaire inquiring about our interests and preferences. One of the questions she asked was if we liked to walk (like a lot) I think by the end of our time together, even Anne was surprised by how much we enjoyed traveling by foot.
We never felt rushed on our tour with Anne as we would stop often for photographs or to pop into various shops.
On our tour we wound our way from the 1st district up to the 10th district, eventually ending at Sacre Coeur. Along the way she would point out places of interest or cute little shops we should come back to. I was very happy I brought along a pen and notepad to write down all her great suggestions, but after our tour she emailed not only our route, but a summary of what we had discussed.
Spring time in Paris is a must see! I probably spent a majority of my time appreciating the architecture and all the tiny little balconies with flowers.
Here we are in front of the "love" wall. Love is written in all different languages, so it only seemed fitting to get our photograph in front of it. Thanks Anne for the suggestion!
I love watching an artist at work and Mont Marte was no exception.
Our time in Paris may be summarized by three words: walking, baguettes and sunshine. Taking Anne's tour was the perfect way to get a feel for Paris before we tackled it on our own.
If you are unsure how to best navigate Paris or if you simply like an insider's perspective I would suggest you book a tour with Anne. Anne also is the author of a lovely blog named Pret A Voyager where she realistically discusses what it is like to live abroad and offers tips for traveling in Paris.
