A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

My top three cozy weekend getaways

As I type, the rain is falling hard outside my window. One moment it goes from sudden downpour, to a drizzle, and then a sprinkle and back to another downpour. As a Seattleite who has experienced her fair share of rainy days, it should be known we have lots of different names for the type of rain falling outside our window. As I think about the upcoming months, it would be easy to hunker down at home for the next several months, but I have recently discovered it is more exhilarating and relaxing to head away for a weekend or two to hang at someone else's home.

Here are my top three cozy weekend getaways.

Cabin on Silver Lake: this home's master bedroom is reason enough to pack your bags. Complete with a large tub, breathtaking lake views and floor to ceiling windows there is plenty of excuses to stay inside all day and watch the rain fall.

See-Oosh Glass Cabin: this home really makes you feel as though you are outside without ever having to step foot out there. The wood burning fireplace easily keep the house warm and the living room is the perfect spot for cozying up to read a book or chat the evening away.

Mount Baker cabin: before the busy ski season begins, the mountains are an easy retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday like. And if you time it just right you might even see a snow flurry or two outside your window.

A few tips for a cozy weekend away:

  • don't forget to pack your slippers. there is nothing better than roaming around someone else's home with your feet nice and toasty.
  • pack lots of hot cocoa, tea, coffee or whatever might be your favorite warm drink. there is something innately calming about having a warm drink in your hand while the rain falls outside.
  • bring a blanket or two. most of the houses we have visited have plenty of blankets, but it is always nice to cozy up with your own.
