Bright and bold in Bergen
Vacations much like life are often punctuated with a few hiccups along the way. When our accommodations in Bergen fell through at the last minute I was elated when I found out this bright and airy apartment was still available. David, the owner, was easy to work with and was kind enough to procure a portable crib for us. Our entire experience from booking to staying was as lovely and laid back as his apartment.
Not only was the apartment on the most beautiful street, but it had the most spectacular view and gorgeous light.
The apartment was also not far from the city center, the grocery store or some fabulous local eateries we tried upon David's recommendation.
As an added bonus, we were within walking distance to a funicular where we were able to go hiking in the mountains for a day. The only problem is that it was really windy and so Jasper hide in the carrier on Cameron's back for most of our hike.
I would never tire of this beautiful view.
View as you are walking down the steps from the apartment.
This light filled dining area was my favorite spot in the apartment.
The touristy, but scenic part of Bergen.
Jasper was fascinated by David's globes. Watching a ball that spun was a real novelty for him.
David had a spectacular collection of cactuses and has inspired me to purchase several more plants for our home.
The kitchen with a view out to the outdoor living space.
Walking along this windy road to our home for a few days was as magical as it looks.
Although we are still fighting off jet lag we are already day dreaming of our return to Norway. We cannot wait to have more time for deeper exploration of the country and more epic days of hiking and being together as a family.
