Picking our way through Summer
Jasper is just as crazy about eating berries as I am, so we have made an agreement to pick as many berries as humanly possible this Summer. So far we went strawberry picking twice, raspberry picking once and now blueberry picking twice. Jasper and I both love to be outside and it would not feel like Summer without spending ample time in the sunshine popping warm berries into our mouths. Picking berries will always be something I remember fondly from my own childhood and being able to carry on that tradition with my own child is pretty special.
On most of our outings together I lug around my DSLR even though I do not always end up taking photos with it. On this particular day, I was able to capture so many little things I want to remember about Jasper. I want to remember how he stops everything he is doing to look up into the sky at the plane flying overhead or how he likes to have his arms tucked behind his back or how he will squat down by the bucket and shovel berries into his mouth. The magic of childhood is so short lived I want to savor every moment wit him. I love how he has the sweetest little baby flip flop tan lines and an unmatched zest for life. He is truly the best little companion a mother could ever aspire to have.
