Hike to Kendall Katwalk
In an uncharacteristic move, Seattle reached almost seventy degrees this past Saturday. In order to take full advantage of this spectacular day in October we spent the entire day outside. We hiked along a trail we had not visited in years, the Kendall Katwalk. The most exciting part of the day was just how far Jasper wanted to hike until he decided it was a good time for a rest. Between the constantly changing light, the rushing waterfalls, soft ground underfoot and the gorgeous saturated colors of Fall I spent my Saturday in my own version of heaven on earth.
During our hike Jasper wanted to hold our hands during the "tricky parts" and then was eager to "shake you off" once he no longer needed a helping hand. This small act pretty much seems up my journey of motherhood; a delicate balance of holding tight and letting go.
