A West Seattle staycation
Last week we were dealing with a little water damage in our home. Rather than feel upset and be miserable we made the most of our time away by renting a cute little mother in law by the beach for the week. We filled our days with walks to the beach, nightly dinners out and long runs. We were grateful for good weather, Airbnb and the kindness of strangers. It was especially fun to spend some extra time in an area we do not always hang out in, but that is so close to home.
A true PNW boy, Jasper takes beach combing to a whole new level.
The kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of plates and cups along with a draw full of spices. Although we kept our food prep to a minimum it was nice to be able to not worry about having to eat out three meals a day. However, if you like/want to eat out there is no shortage of variety to choose from.
There were thoughtful little touches of the beach throughout the space. One of my biggest complaints when a place is a rental is how they can often feel sterile with empty bookshelves and little decor. This was certainly not the case here.
This place was just a couple blocks from some of our favorite places to eat in West Seattle. There is Cactus (Mexican), Sunfish (fish and chips), Pegasus (pizza and pasta), a pho place, a donut shop and even a couple of coffee shops.
Just two blocks from our rental. West Seattle is such a dreamy place to visit this time of year.
