A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Exploring San Juan Island with Susie's Mopeds

Exploring San Juan Island with Susie's Mopeds

It took us a few years to realize we didn't need a car in order to explore San Juan Island. Susie's Mopeds offers rentals of all kinds from mopeds and compact SUVs to scoot coupes and electric bicycles. One of our favorites is the scoot coupe which comfortably fits two people and is a fun way to spend the day together while seeing the island.

There are endless routes and roads you can take around the island, but we typically like to head out to Cattle Point, stop by Pelindaba Lavender Farm for souvenirs, look for whales at Lime Kiln Lighthouse, pit stop at Westcott Bay Shellfish and then onto Roche Harbor for dinner. These are just a few highlights of the island, but it is also fun to take random roads and meander your own way around the island. Over the years we added and subtracted to list with other fun stops at the farm stand we like to stop at to pick up our dahlia tubers or Sponge Bob Squarepant's Pineapple.

Cattle Point is far enough away from town that unless you have a car or know to come here not everyone comes out this way. There are no restaurants or tourist attractions other than the beautiful scenery, so you can often have the place to yourself. Cattle Point is one of my favorite quiet spots on the island.

There is nothing quite like the wind in your hair and the open road ahead. If you are feeling a little more adventurous you can rent a moped, but there is something inherently fun about being in a scoot coupe.

We love to stop at Pelindaba Lavender Farm for lavender chocolate sauce, lavender shortbread cookies, lavender ice cream and lavender lemonade. They now ship their merchandise for free within the U.S. which makes it an easy way to send gifts to loved ones or ship your souvenirs home. It is interesting to learn about the process and see where the products originate from.

Lime Kiln Lighthouse is where you can often spot whales off shore, but it is always a lovely spot to hike around on the rocks and take in the views.

Westcott Bay Shellfish, one of our favorite spots to pick up local oysters or if it is the weekend enjoy a few barbecued ones.

Enjoy a leisurely dinner at Madrona Bar & Grill in Roche Harbor while watching the sunset.

From exploring the island for the first time to the fiftieth time, Susie's Mopeds is fast, friendly, reliable, safe and fun way to see the island. My only advice is to book in advance because on busy weekends and during the Summer she is known to sell out quickly!
