Cruising around San Juan Island
During our stay at Lakedale Resort we had the opportunity to cruise around San Juan Island one day in a scoot coupe from Susie's Moped. It was a fun way to spend the day and see the island from a different perspective. We also enjoyed being able to leave our car for the day and explore the island in a more environmentally friendly way. If you have a couple of hours, half a day or a full day Susie's Moped is the perfect thing to do if you want to walk on the ferry and avoid the lines, but still see the entire island at your own pace.
Susie's Moped is unique in the fact that after so many successful years in business you can still find the owner and founder, Susie, seamlessly taking you through safety procedures, a pictorial tour of the island and giving tips which will enhance your overall experience. Susie was friendly and informative and has an enthusiasm for what she does which is contagious.
We started our tour of the island with a stop at to one of our favorite spots on the island- Cattle Point. We walked along the bluffs enjoyed the wind through our hair and imagined like we always do what it would be like to live here on a full time basis.
After a quiet morning at Cattle Point we stopped at Pelindaba Lavender Farm for some essentials like chocolate lavender sauce and to pick up a couple more lavender plants for our garden. It is amazing what you can fit into the scoot coupe's trunk!
After a full day of fun and adventure we ended our tour of the island at Roche Harbor with blue skies and lunch at our favorite spot.
If driving around in a scoot coupe is not your thing, Susie's moped also offers rental of electric bikes, mopeds, and compact SUVs.
I will always take great pride in being able to meet and support local businesses owners like Susie. Susie is friendly, passionate and excited about what she does and where she lives. Susie is eager to make your time on San Juan Island a trip to remember.
