A day on Whidbey Island
Some Saturdays we are just itching to get away. To recharge, see new landscapes, eat at new places and come back later that day renewed. Often our adventures involve a ferry boat which is always a highlight for Jasper. On this particular day we got a late start so our plan was simple: hop on the Mukilteo ferry, head to Langley and then onto Ebey's Landing and end the day in Coupeville. Over the past couple of years we have made friends with the owner of edit. Her darling shop is always the bright spot of our day when we visit Langley. While I perused her jewel box of a store Cameron and Jasper headed to the whale museum. While chatting with Holly she informed us the beach in front of the Inn at Langley is open to the public from 8am-8pm so once I was done shopping we headed straight over there. After enjoying a good hour or so at the beach we made one last stop at David Price's new art gallery in Langley before heading onto Ebey's Landing.

It is always nice to see life in the middle of Winter.

Even in the Winter, pops of color and endless textures are at the beach.

The beautiful drive to Ebey's Landing.
Once at Ebey's Landing there was a constant mist of rain which made for the most beautiful scenery. Jasper got an enormous kick out of leading the way on the bluff trail and then once we were at the top running full force straight for both me and my camera. Jasper is at that age where it is hard to get a good photo of him, so I am grateful I was able to capture a few of his different facial expressions on that particular day.
