Saturday on Whidbey
There is nothing better than a sunny Saturday! And after what felt like a VERY long Winter filled with endless sickness and cold weather anything over sixty degrees feels like heaven. On Saturday, we hopped on a ferry bound for Whidbey Island and enjoyed a day filled with a delicious lunch from Knead and Feed, sunshine and most importantly a precious reminder of why we live here. To make the day even better we spent it with our dear friend, Lynn, and I even stumbled upon a fantastic new artist at Penn Cove Gallery whose work I am eager to fill our home with.
A quintessential PNW scene.
Practicing his balance.
Although we love living so close to the city, it is fun to see Jasper have an equal love for wide open spaces. I really think living in Seattle we are able to experience the best of both worlds.
Every now and then I have the forethought to bring along something for Jasper that makes his day even more fun. On this particular day, I remembered to slip Jasper's new binoculars into my bag. He spent countless moments examining every bug, boat and interesting blade of grass we passed by. I am grateful for this boy and his adventurous spirit. He loves to hike, will chat with anyone who passes by us and has a heart as big as this planet.
While we were coming down the trail he spotted an older gentleman who was walking barefoot. Jasper insisted he put his shoes back on because "the police might give you a ticket". I love to see how he views the world and how he is not afraid to voice his opinion whether someone would like to hear it or not.
If you have never done it the Ebey's Landing bluff hike is something you must add to your to do list this Spring or Summer.
