Spring time in Seattle
As the days are getting longer spending more time outside is my favorite part. Here is a list of some of my favorite things to do in the city on a sunny afternoon/evening:
1. Picnic at Gasworks Park- bring your own picnic or pick up something from a nearby restaurant
2. Rent kayaks and have dinner at Agua Verde afterwards- order the spicy catfish tacos
3. Go for a long run along Alki Beach- park near the West Seattle bridge at the very south end of the park for a good six mile route
4. Picnic at Lake Union Park and watch the seaplanes come and go- check the Center for Wooden Boats schedule to see when their free sails are or what classes are going on
5. Sunset stroll at Lincoln Park- walk .25 miles to Colman Pool for the best views of the sunset in the Spring time
6. Visit the Japanese Garden at the Arboretum
7. Wander around the University of Washington and admire the cherry blossoms- plan your visit during the week to avoid the biggest crowds
8. Rent a surrey and have dinner at Marination Ma Kai- you can order a shaved ice with your meal and then go have it made once you finish your dinner. I suggest ordering the shaved ice on top of Husky Deli coconut ice cream.
9. Take the ferry to Vashon Island and stay for a night at The Lodges on Vashon
10. Order a scoop of Honey Lavender and Melted Chocolate from Molly Moon's
11. Take the King County water taxi to the city for a baseball game
12. Stop by Pike Place Market to get supplies for dinner
