Fun things to do with kids in and around Phoenix
Over Christmas break we spent two glorious weeks in the sunshine. We were reminded how the other half lives and even became slightly jealous at the thought this is other people’s “normal”. We proudly filled our days with shorts and short sleeves and I am embarrassed to say we even had a few moments where we felt a little hot. I guess it just shows what die hard Pacific Northwesterners we are.
While in Arizona we made it a point to take Jasper to some fun places with some specifically geared at him. Here are a few things we did while we were there.
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park: This is a great little park in Scottsdale where you can have a picnic, ride on a little train, take a spin on the carousel, play on a playground and get up close with all different types of trains.
Rawhide: This is a Western town in Chandler, AZ where you can pan for gold, walk along a wooden boardwalk, lasso a fake bull and wear your western boots and fit right in.
Papago Park: This is a beautiful park in downtown Phoenix where you can take a short hike, ride your bike and enjoy a little fresh air.
Tempe Town Lake: This newly developed piece of waterfront is a great spot to walk, play football, have a picnic, ride your bike or try out the new electric scooters that are everywhere these days.
