Cascade Adventure Vans
In our family, being together and spending time outdoors are two of our favorite things. Fortunately for us, for the duration of this pandemic we have been able to not only spend an inordinate amount of time together, but have spent most of our free time together outdoors. When the world has felt crazy and (I hate to admit)… even downright scary our family has sought solace in hikes, camping, bike rides, nature walks and weekend adventures. When all the world has felt “closed” the outdoors have been one place which has remained open.
Back in the Fall, before the weather turned to consecutive days of dreariness our family was able to go on a spectacular adventure with Cascade Adventure Vans. We drove up to the North Cascades for a few days of camping and hopes of feeling “normal”. For our trip our van not only provided our transportation but functioned as our home away from home. From a sweet outdoor kitchen set up to the refrigerator and hammock we had everything we needed plus more. Had we been around anyone else we would have been the envy of all the other campers.
From light weight portable tables to chairs and pots and pans we literally showed up for our adventure with our food and clothes and ended up having a perfectly curated camping experience. Typically, we back pack into our camp site, so to have all the bells and whistles for this trip was a real treat.
If you want the memories of a camping trip without the cost associated with procuring all the gear and figuring out how to transport it to the camp site look no further than Cascade Adventure Vans.
One of our many family hikes during our trip- this jaw dropping scenery was Blue Lake.
Each season has its “star” and in the Fall it is all about the larch.
These precious moments outdoors with the ones I love are the moments I treasure.
Jasper is smart, funny and a force to be reckoned with. I know he is going to do big things in life!
One of the nice things about Cascade Adventure Vans is they can adjust the inside set up based on your preference (either one or two beds) and the size of your group (max five people).
Wherever we went in our van people stopped and asked us about it. Whether it is because more people are moving to Washington state, people are finally realizing the benefits of fresh air and exercise or because this pandemic is turning everyone into outdoorsmen and women we saw several other vans like this in our travels.
As parents to little ones it was really nice to have a bed on the go (as opposed to a tent at a far off camp site) whether to change a diaper, put on a fresh outfit or take an impromptu nap. In addition, having a refrigerator as silly as it sounds is a true game changer with kids. When you have little ones they always want a snack and when you can keep food cold that means the snacks are a lot healthier than their shelf stable counterparts. It is truly a win-win!
Of course in a perfect world I could do without this pandemic, but I am grateful it hit when our children are young and still think we are funny and cool and fun to be with. These angelic faces and easy access to the outdoors have been a balm in our troubled world.
Whenever I get a chance I like to support local businesses, especially during this holiday season. If you need a little escape or something to look forward to next year make sure to check out Cascade Adventure Vans. The owners, Shawn and Sheila, in addition to being kind, fantastic, hardworking people will do a little happy dance when you book your van.
