A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

Bowline Hotel with Kind Traveler

Kind Traveler is a veteran and woman-owned company and the first socially conscious Give + Get hotel booking platform. Kind Traveler mission is simple: to positively impact the communities you visit. Simply select a hotel, give to a local charity/organization, and in turn receive an exclusive hotel rate and perks. If you are like me whenever you visit a place you immediately start picturing what a new life there would be like. Kind Traveler helps you leave a lasting gift of sorts for the places you fall in love with on your travels. Many of the communities we love to visit have been impacted by Covid-19 and Kind Traveler helps create a meaningful way to help them during their time of need.

I love traveling with my kids and one of our core values when traveling is to leave a place better than you left it. Whether that be picking up trash around our hotel to selecting a local option for dining over a big chain, I want to teach my children how their everyday choices add up to make a difference. Kind Traveler can help my kids get excited to make a difference one trip at a time.

Recently my family and I stayed at the new Bowline Hotel in Astoria, Oregon. From the moment we arrived, we enjoyed the central location, the laid-back vibe, and the comfortable rooms. We spent hours walking along the waterfront, making friends with the resident sea lions, and watching the ships come and go along the river. My children enjoyed running back and forth along the walkway while I enjoyed having easy access to our room to give a nap, grab a snack or change a diaper.

Although the weather was not fantastic, it was an exhilarating and memorable mix of torrential rain, clouds blue skies, and sunshine. One minute we would be enjoying ourselves in the sun and the next minute we were slurping bowls of hot pho to the sound of rain. We enjoyed walking around in search of warm pastries and trying out one of many food trucks.

When you travel with children it isn’t so much about a vacation but a relocation. There are still naps to be taken and schedules to keep which means more time spent in your hotel room. When you have a stylish room and comfortable bed to return to after a long day those 7 pm bedtimes are welcoming for all parties involved.
