A little bit about Lisette.....

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.

When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.

This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

This Week's Discoveries

This Week's Discoveries

This week travel, warmer weather, camping and gearing up for the Summer has been on my mind.

I came across this Kickstarter for something called the iKamper. I love the idea of having a place to camp wherever I go because I can think of a few occasions where we could not find a camping spot to save our lives and ended up coming home defeated and sad. It is like a treehouse for your car complete with a ladder. It looks like many other people are excited about this because as of today they have already passed the $2 million dollar mark!

In thinking about Summer, I am in the beginning stages of outfitting Jasper for our upcoming outdoor adventures. For all your outdoors woman (and men) I would love to hear what you think the best gear is for hiking and camping with busy toddlers. I am considering getting a Tuffo rain suit for Jasper. They are definitely not very fashion forward, but at the very least it will save me from going through so many changes of clothes when we are out in garden each day.

For an easy weeknight dinner I like to make couscous with asparagus and either sautéed fish or chicken. This week I found wild, fresh caught halibut at Costco and the whole family happily devoured it. When I find a meal that is a hit like this chances are good it will end up in the rotation.

In other news, I was very proud of myself for getting my garden in very early this year, but apparently so were our neighborhood bunnies! I am in the process of bunny proofing my garden and I have heard they do not like strong scents like cinnamon, cloves and red peppers and that blood meal, human hair and egg shells help ward them off. I am off to try a combination of all of the above and will report back in a few weeks on my experience.

Happy Friday!
