A Planting Party

As the days are becoming longer and the temperature continues to rise I have been dreaming about my garden non stop. I cannot wait for the endless salads, berries or tomatoes it will be producing this Summer. In order for my friends to join in on the fun I thought it would be fun to host a Planting Party. The premise is simple set up a long table outside, supply vegetable starts or flowers, purchase inexpensive hanging baskets (or ask people to bring their own) and and potting soil for everyone. Spend the rest of the evening chatting and planting your baskets. If you are fortunate to know a master gardener like myself, then invite him or her along to chat with the group at the beginning and answer all their pressing gardening questions. At the end of the night  you have a delicious or beautiful hanging basket which you can enjoy over the next several months to remember the evening and your friends by.

If you are feeling extra industrious make an outdoor themed dessert and serve up something like dirt cups.
