Sunshine and octopuses

A couple weeks ago we headed to the Seattle Aquarium mid day on a Saturday. There was a larger crowd than normal at the front door and we were curious what was going on. Once inside we realized we had happened upon one of the largest events during the year for the aquarium- the Octopus Release. Overall, the event was pretty low key, but it was fun to see one of the octopuses released into the Puget Sound. It was supposed to be a stormy day, but ended up being a beautiful, sunny day. After the octopus release we enjoyed a leisurely lunch at one of our favorite lunch spots, Agua Verde and then ended the day at the Ballard Locks. 

While we were at the Ballard Locks we just happened to see the Wizard from the Deadliest Catch come through. It was fun to start the day with no real plans and then be able to experience all sorts of fun things with Jasper. We live in such a vibrant city I sometimes forget all the interesting places we have so readily at our fingertips.
