A beach hopping Saturday
On Saturdays, we often hop on a ferry and explore a different places for the day. Last weekend, we drove to Point Defiance Park in Tacoma enjoyed a picnic lunch and then hopped on the ferry bound for Vashon Island. After spending a couple hours at Point Robinson Park throwing rocks and beach combing we hopped on the Fauntleroy ferry and from there it is only a few minutes until we are home. The thing with ferry travel is you needn't go far to feel like we have really gone on an adventure for the day.
Late Winter is easily becoming one of my favorite times of year for exploring without crowds. This time of year it is often too warm in the mountains for snow and too cold outside for most people to want to venture on a day trip. The crowds are non existent and the landscape is the perfect blend of moody grays and blues.
Point Robinson Park is the perfect spot to spend a few hours.
Jasper likes to stop and check out every interesting rock or shell. It is amazing how we can cover so little ground, but fill our time so well.
Attempting to piece back together a broken shell.
In quiet moments we make memories together as a family. On this beach Jasper turned sticks into unicorns and shells into back up singers. I am grateful for the simple pleasures in life, like an empty beach, a healthy imagination and a smiling child.
