Saturday at Snow Lake
A day trip to Snow Lake is always at the top of our Summer list. This year the B.C. fires have made the air smoky and the sky hazy, but that did not keep us away from an entire day spent outside. There is short season in the PNW where the breeze is warm, the water is bearable for swimming and the trail is snow free so we can enjoy this beautiful pocket of heaven. Summer in Seattle really cannot be beat!
A little pre lunch dip.
Jasper working on his aim with Cameron.
And almost overnight we have ourselves a bonafide hiker. He is quick. agile and the cutest little guy I have ever seen on the trails. When he needs help he yells "tricky part" and either Mommy or Daddy come to his rescue to lend a helping hand. His constant narration of "oohhh how pretty" and "look at that bee or that stream" make me admire his watchful eye and attention to detail.
We discovered when our hiking poles are fully collapsed they are perfect height for Jasper. No need to buy him special kid hiking poles for the time being.
And after a long day hiking as a family there is nothing better than eating a delicious meal and then heading to bed early.
