Strawberry season is here!!
The thermometer could be flirting with ninety degrees this weekend which means come Monday we will have loads more ripe berries to pick in our garden. A couple weeks ago I went strawberry picking at Harvold's in Carnation and ended up lugging home seventeen pounds of strawberries. I ended up freezing most of them for morning smoothies, but I also made strawberry rhubarb crumb bars. Probably my most favorite way to use them is in homemade popsicles, but eating by the bowlful is pretty great too. Summer always gets me excited for berry season because it is so fleeting, but oh so wonderful while it is here.
