Watching an animal in its natural habitat is truly one of the most thrilling experiences while being outdoors. From the squeal of marmots or pikas to watching elk, moose or big horn sheep The thrill of seeing an animal is never lost on me.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I feel most alive surrounded by trees and breathing in the fresh mountain air.
When I am not working you will most likely find me spending time outdoors, volunteering with my church and exploring this beautiful planet with my family.
This is my place to share my passion for life and to encourage you to take time to find the extraordinary in your life.

For the past few weeks Seattle has been shrouded in a thick blanket of fog. As a native to the Pacific Northwest, I am used to the rain and grey skies, but this fog is really a novelty.
This year our vacations have been simple. We have spent all of our time hiking, camping, exploring and being outdoors. Spending time together has been our number one priority and we have kept all the other details simple.
On my birthday I wanted to take some updated photographs for this blog. As Cameron started to snap away I noticed how awkward I felt having my photograph taken. I hate to admit it, but in high school I did not even have Senior photos taken because I hated getting my photo taken so much.
The sun is shining and the temperature is still mild, which make it the perfect time to squeeze in a hike or two before the trails are covered in snow.
Here are some of my favorite fall hikes:
One thing people often ask is where I like to eat. There are a dizzying array of choices in Seattle, so it is a good thing there are three meals in a day plus a couple snacks.
If you are looking for a nice, relaxing getaway for the weekend than Seabrook, WA is a great option. The houses are fully furnished, so all you need to do is pack your bags and plan your menu or forgo the home cooking and eat at their on site restaurant. Seabrook has great beach access, a small town feel and enough charm to keep you coming back again and again.
The shorter days and grayer skies have me longing for warm, Summer days. It only seemed fitting when I came across these photos from our camping trip on the Olympic Peninsula that I revisit them and their Summery warmth. Enjoy!
The route to Cutthroat Lake is a short, scenic hike with a gorgeous lake at the end. We started our hike early one frosty morning and were rewarded with a brilliant lake to ourselves.
When I was young I loved my birthday. I eagerly counted down the days before I could become "all powerful". Before I headed off to school, my mother would arm me with an enormous button which read. "It is my birthday I can do whatever I want". Although I am certain this made my teachers snicker, in theory this line perfectly described the day in my mind.
When I think of the Fall my thoughts turn toward foggy mornings, a crispness in the air, crunching leaves under foot, pots of delicious soup and apple crisps baking in the oven. There are so many wonderful sights and smells of Autumn.
Here is a round up of some of my favorite things to make this Fall season.
